It’s no mean feat, finding your forever home. Taking that long-term thinking into the home buying process makes every decision an important one.

Buyers have to ask themselves some serious questions about what their family situation, housing needs and even their location desires might look like in ten or twenty (or more) years time.

So when new Everleigh homebuyer and lifelong Greenbank local, Kim Davis, declared her new Everleigh address to be a ‘forever home’, it got us thinking.

What is it about Everleigh that makes buyers fall in love?

Ticks the boxes

Kim and her fiancé Matt wanted to upsize from a three-bedroom home in neighboring Hillcrest to a larger property suitable to raise their two boys, Lincoln (4) and Mason (20 months).

After an intensive two-month search to find the right fit, the pair decided to visit Everleigh.

“As soon as we visited Everleigh and talked to the sales team, we put down a deposit that very day,” Kim tells us.

“Everleigh had everything we could possibly want or need, including easy access to work, open-green spaces, excellent amenities and a location smack-bang in the middle of an incredible education hub,” she says.

“It instantly felt like home to us and we knew straight away that Everleigh would be the ideal place to stay put and have an amazing life with our boys."

Community Engagement

Everleigh has a dedicated Community Manager, Suzanne from Enriching Communities, who regularly organises a range of fun and interesting events.

“One of the things we immediately noticed is the close-knit community atmosphere – everyone is so warm and inviting and we instantly felt a part of something amazing,” says Kim.

“It’s such a great way to engage with our new neighbours and form what will be long-lasting friendships.”

Lifestyle

“We love the wide, open green spaces and the tranquil atmosphere that makes Everleigh feel peaceful and private - yet not too far from everything,” says Kim.

The family found easy access to schools another major drawcard, with their oldest son enrolled in a private school less than a 15 minute drive from their new home.

“Living at Everleigh also makes getting to work a breeze, as I do social work at a nearby school – in fact it’s the same school I met my fiancé Matt!" says Kim.

“It’s wonderful knowing where we grew up is still very much a part of our daily lives, and we enjoy maintaining a strong connection to that.”

The Greenbank area

“A huge growth in much-needed infrastructure and amenity for local residents to enjoy, means Greebank, which once felt a little ‘forgotten about’ or isolated, is now booming and becoming a wonderful environment to raise a family in,” says Kim.

“To have everything you could possibly need on your doorstep is a huge change from when I was growing up here as a kid. The Government has really taken notice and the area is really starting to take shape.

“As a mum, it’s a huge deal to be part of a tight, social network where mothers can come together and participate in community activities and feel included.

"From my background in social work, I recognise the importance for young mums to not feel isolated or alone in their community, and the growth in Greenbank is a positive step in the right direction to bring that to fruition.”

The family future

“We finally have a home with a big yard and the fantastic parkland right on our doorstep, so there is so much to do without having to go out and spend money on the weekend, which is great,” says Kim.

“We are absolutely in love with the Everleigh parkland, I take the boys there every single afternoon where they can have playtime outside in a safe, secure environment.

“We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Everleigh community!”
